Robert Lewandowski's latest transfer decision that could affect Chelsea amid ongoing speculation

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski is reported to have made it clear he no longer wishes to remain with the German champions beyond this summer.

The 34-year-old has been in superb form again this season, finding the net 49 times in 45 appearances for the Bavarians.

But with previous rumours suggesting one of the world's most lethal finishers could be on his way to the Premier League later this year, it seems the forward has opted to exercise his options elsewhere.

According to reports on social media, Lewandowski has made it clear he wishes to leave the Allianz Arena, with Barcelona favourites to swoop in.

With his contract not set to expire until June 2023, Bayern will seemingly do all they can to keep hold of one of their most prized assets, despite his own desires to head for the exit door.

Barcelona are, of course, midway through their own rebuild, given Xavi's appointment later this year. The Spanish giants will, however, compete in the Champions League next season after securing a top-four finish, an attractive proposition within itself.

However, money worries have long troubled the Catalan-based side, with several high earners also reported to be keen on leaving the club this summer.

Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay and Samuel Umtiti are all rumoured to be part of Xavi's plans for a structural reset, with Lewandowski perhaps top of the former midfielder's list of incoming transfer targets.

The Polish striker has been with the German club since 2014, collecting a whopping eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League back in 2019/20.
