Robbie Williams' biopic Better Man achieves this huge feat one day into release

Robbie Williams, the star with a career spanning 24 years, is bringing his story to the big screen in his new biopic, Better Man.

The film launches in cinemas today (Thursday, December 26) and has kickstarted with glowing critiques from movie aficionados.

With a release just hitting the screens, Better Man boasts an impressive 92% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Mirror reports critics are showering the biopic with praise. One remarked: "If you could tear your eyes away from the screen enough to check a stopwatch, not one minute goes by without a flourish that's either funny, ridiculous, stunning or emotional."

Another commented on the singer's portrayal, "If you're a Robbie Williams fan, you already know what a great songwriter and performer he is, and Better Man does a fine job telling his backstory and giving you reason to continue loving him."

And another critic was taken with the visual aspects of the film: "It's a visual feast for the eyes: a colourful, well-lit, pristinely-framed showcase for the music, the choreography, and the emotional core of the performances, never trading one aspect for the another. It's brilliant, energetic, electrifying stuff."

In a unique twist, Robbie's character in the movie appears as a CGI chimpanzee, expressed through the magic of motion capture by actor Jonno Davies.

The creation springs from the minds at Weta, the acclaimed special effects studio known for breathing life into Gollum from Lord of the Rings and Caesar from Planet of the Apes.
