Rio Ferdinand questions Erik ten Hag's Wout Weghorst decision as Manchester United beaten by West Ham

Rio Ferdinand believes Wout Weghorst lacks the skill set to play as Manchester United's No.10, with the Dutchman once again struggling in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to West Ham.

United dropped points away from home again thanks to Said Benrahma's first-half goal. The Hammers winger was gifted the opener just before the half-hour mark when his weak shot was inexplicably let in by David De Gea, who seemed to slip but was unable to palm the effort away from danger.

Erik ten Hag's side failed to gather momentum after a bright opening 10 minutes despite dominating possession, with Weghorst again struggling to make an impact going forward. He doesn’t then get up enough with play to be a threat in the box. That’s the confusion when you look at it from the outside."

It's an unusual position for Weghorst, whose entire career has been spent leading the line. United lured the 30-year-old
