Richard Jensen 'sickened' by Aberdeen FC results in Europe but hoping for happy Helsinki homecoming

Richard Jensen has admitted Aberdeen’s Europa Conference League results have been sickening but he wants to make it a happy homecoming in Helsinki.

The Finnish international came through the youth ranks of HJK before he moved to Dutch side Twente in 20212. Jensen returns to the Bolt Arena for the first time in his senior career and with close family and friends in attendance he wants to help the Dons to their first European win of the season Aberdeen ran Eintracht Frankfurt close in Germany, surrendered a two goal lead against PAOK, took a point away in Greece and had to settle for a point at home to HJK.

PAOK and Frankfurt’s runs though have meant that Aberdeen’s hopes of progression were over after game day four's battling, draw away to PAOK. The 27-year-old said: “It has been sickening, we have had some incredible performances but haven’t really got the results we perhaps deserved. Have we lacked luck? “We have learned from this experience, definitely. You are seeing us grow from week to week, we are starting to perform as a good team and we’re showing that.

“I think we’re showing it internationally, domestically and in the cup as well. Every three or four days we’re out there on the pitch doing what we need to do, we’re showing good character doing the things we need to
