Richard Jensen hands Aberdeen Europa League boost as he beats squad deadline with frantic dash to set up debut chance
Aberdeen have been given a Europa League boost as they successfully got new signing Richard Jensen registered for tonight’s play-off clash with BK Hacken.
The Dons signed the Finnish defender on a three year deal from Gornik Zabrze yesterday and club officials frantically managed to get him signed ahead of last night’s signing deadline. It means that Robson will have two new faces available to him, as Republic of Ireland midfielder Jamie McGrath, is also in his squad for tonight’s first leg in the Bravida Arena. Robson believes Jensen will add real quality and balance to the Aberdeen defence.
Robson stated: “He is a good athlete first and foremost. He is another international who knows how difficult it is to play at European level. He can run, which is important in the way we play and he has a good left-foot to give us balance on the other side. He can play left-hand side, left of a three and left-back. He covers various positions and he is a really terrific guy.
“When we spoke to him over calls, he seems really measured, is a bright guy and is at a really good age. We have got a lot of young players in the team but he brings that age of 27 where he is just hitting his peak. That is important for us as well.”
