Ric Flair: WWE legend confirms opponent for his final wrestling match

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has finally revealed who he will face in his last ever professional wrestling match.

After teasing fans throughout the day on the identification of his opponent, even teasing it was a ‘one of your own’ from Monday Night Raw, Flair finally confirmed who he will be sharing the ring with later this month. 

In a somewhat unexpected tag team bout, The Nature Boy will team with son-in-law and former WWE star Andrade El Idolo to face the team of fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett and AEW’s Jay Lethal.

The match will take place as part of the Jim Crockett promotions event that has been named Ric Flair’s Last Match on 31 July in Nashville, Tennessee. Just a night removed from Flair’s opponent, Jarrett being the special guest referee for the Undisputed Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam in the same city. 

On the same night, several names connected to Flair’s past will be part of the card. Including The Von Erichs, the latest stars in that wrestling lineage taking on The Briscoes in tag team action, plus Ricky Morton representing the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express alongside Kerry taking on Brian Pillman Jr and Brock Anderson – representing the Four Horseman with Arn Arnderson in their corner.

Ric Flair famously ‘retired’ at WrestleMania XXIV, losing a career ending match against Shawn Michaels in what is one of the most iconic WrestleMania moments in its history. However, the sixteen-time world champion would later go to compete on the independent scene and in TNA.
