Rhian Sugden says her life finally feels 'complete' on Mother's Day

Rhian Sugden has shared a sweet Mother's Day post on her Instagram that's in stark contrast to this time last year. The glamour model from Bury posted "What a difference a year can make" as she showed off a smiling picture posing with her baby bump next to a tearful photo she posted at the same time last year.

Last year the Rhian shared an emotional insight into life as an 'IVF warrior' on Mother's Day in a candid Instagram post. In March 2023, she posted a picture of herself in tears as she rested in bed.

The lingerie model had undergone several failed attempts at In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF treatment) with her husband, former Coronation Street star Oliver Mellor. Tests revealed Rhian, 37, had the 'egg count of a woman over 45' and was in the stage of perimenopause - the time during which the body makes the transition to menopause marking the end of the reproductive years.

However, in November 2023, the Bury model shared the couple's "amazing news" that she is pregnant with her first child following eight rounds of gruelling IVF treatment. The star shared the news with her 480K Instagram followers who have been following her IVF journey since 2017, saying "good things come to those who wait," as she posed with her baby bump.

Now on Mother's Day this year, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant revealed how much the couple's fortunes have changed. Posting the two contrasting Mother's Day photos side-by-side, she said: "What a difference a year can make. For the past six years I dreaded Mother’s Day as the cruel reality sunk in more and more that IVF wasn’t working for me.
