RG Snyman starts for Leinster as Test stars return for provinces

RG Snyman will make his debut for Leinster in Saturday's BKT United Rugby Championship clash away to Benetton on Saturday (live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player), while Leo Cullen has picked close to a full-strength side for the trip to Italy.

Double World Cup-winner Snyman, who joined from Munster over the summer, has recovered from a foot injury to take his place in a beefy second row alongside Joe McCarthy, among twelve changes from last week’s win against the Dragons.

With a huge Interpro next week against Munster at Croke Park, Cullen has selected arguably his best starting team available, captained by Caelan Doris who makes his first appearance of the season.

Andrew Porter, Rónan Kelleher and Tadhg Furlong all return in the front row, supported by McCarthy and Snyman, while Doris is flanked by Josh van der Flier and Jack Conan, who shifts across to the blindside.

Jamison Gibson-Park comes in at scrum-half, while Ciarán Frawley notably gets the shout at out-half, which could be a sign of things to come at the province.

Jamie Osborne moves from full-back to inside centre, where he’s joined by Garry Ringrose, as Hugo Keenan starts in the 15 shirt.

Jimmy O’Brien is the other back to keep his place after last week, starting on the right wing, with James Lowe picked on the left.
