REPRO Championship makes appearance on Rampage

Last night on AEW Rampage saw a surprise appearance of a championship from another company as the United Empire took on FTR and Trent Beretta in the main event.

The United Empire’s Aussie Open and Will Ospreay made their anticipated AEW in-ring debut last night. However, there was a very interesting detail that fans noticed during their entrance.

Will Ospreay made his way down to the ring, and around his waist was the REVPRO Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship.

The REVPRO Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship is the top prize in Revolution Pro Wrestling and has been held by the likes of Zack Sabre Jr, Minoru Suzuki, Tomohiro Ishii, Hiroshi Tanahashi, AJ Styles and more.

Ospreay is currently in the longest reign of the company’s history, having held the title for 848+ days.

Revolution Pro Wrestling has partnerships with New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor and now it seems AEW must have some sort of tie or agreement with Ospreay being able to sport the title on AEW television.

However, it proved to be a debut to forget for the United Empire and its Kingpin Will Ospreay as they took on ROH and AAA Tag Team Champions FTR alongside Roppongi Vice’s Trent Beretta.

Ospreay would showcase his dominant athleticism but would ultimately fall short after Beretta was able to hit Kyle Fletcher with a Strong Zero to pick up a shock victory and get the advantage over the United Empire.

However, it seemed that Trent and Ospreay had unfinished business after the match as they stared each other down.

It is unknown Ospreay’s status at Forbidden Door but his appearances on AEW in the past week could indicate his involvement at the highly anticipated show on June 26th.
