Report: Celtics sign F Griffin to one-year deal
The Boston Celtics have signed free agent forward Blake Griffin to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal, according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
Free agent Blake Griffin has agreed to a one-year, fully guaranteed deal with the Boston Celtics, sources tell ESPN.
A six-time All-Star and former No. 1 pick, Griffin spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 6.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Prior to his time in Brooklyn (2020-21), the University of Oklahoma product and native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Griffin spent time with the Detroit Pistons (2017-20) and the Los Angeles Clippers (2010-17).
Following his return from a knee injury during his first season as a pro, Griffin was named Rookie of the Year in the 2010 season for his 22.5 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Over the course of his 742-game career, Griffin has averaged 19.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
