Reo Hatate in Celtic injury worry as midfielder forced out of Hibs match with Rangers showdowns looming

Reo Hatate has proven a major injury blow for Celtic as he came off injured in their match with Hibs this afternoon.

The Japanese midfielder was snubbed by his national team this week in a shock omission and was heading down the tunnel with his shirt over his head and clutching his hamstring. He pulled up shortly into the Premiership match and the physios didn't take long to deem that he was unable to continue, with David Turnbull on to replace him.

Ange Postecoglou's Hoops success has been built off their strength in depth but they have suffered three midfield blows in a week, with fellow engine room men Tomoki Iwata and Aaron Mooy also missing this one with knocks. There are two league clashes with Rangers to come this Spring while a Scottish Cup semi-final is also looming against their rivals at Hampden at the end of April, and all at Parkhead will hope it isn't a serious issue.

Hatate has been a starring light in a strong season for Celtic. He has contributed to five goals and six assists on league duty.
