Rent costs in Manchester city centre have climbed once again making living in the heart of the city even more unaffordable. The average price of a two-bed rental property is now £1,279 per month, according to the latest economy report from Manchester Council.

As demand continues to outweigh supply, coupled with the cost of living crisis, the cost of renting in the city centre has gone up by 3.3 percent in the last quarter alone.

Rental prices outside of the city centre have also soared according to the council, having risen by 4 percent against the previous quarter. However outside of the centre, a two-bed property costs an average of £987 to rent - which is considered much more affordable.
