Red Arrows LIVE as jets set to fly over Greater Manchester this evening

Aviation fans in Greater Manchester will be looking up to sky this evening to catch a glimpse of the world famous Red Arrows flying overhead.

The RAF Aerobatic Team have been wowing crowds at the Southport Air Show in Merseyside this weekend and will be flying back to their base at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire after the event closes this evening.

The iconic red jets will be passing over parts of the north of Greater Manchester on a route that takes them from Liverpool, across our region, down over the Peak District and then across Nottinghamshire to the RAF base.

The journey is expected to take around half an hour and jet spotters will need to make sure they are ready and waiting if they don't want to miss it. The Red Arrows fly relatively low in the sky during their transit flights so you should be able to get a good view of them if you're in the right spot.

After setting off from Merseyside, the Red Arrows are expected to fly across Wigan, Bolton, Bury and Rochdale shortly after 7.20pm.

Now in their 60th season, the Red Arrows continue to impress crowds across the globe with their stunning aerobatic manoeuvres and are a regular highlight of the annual Southport aviation event.
