Recap: Coldplay add second Cardiff show due to overwhelming demand as thousands buy tickets

Coldplay added an extra Cardiff show to their world tour following incredible demand. The band also added a fourth date to their Manchester appearances too amid huge online queues for tickets on Thursday morning (August 25).

As tickets went on sale at 10am more than 312,000 fans joined the online queue via Ticketmaster for the Cardiff, June 6 show alone. It was a similar story for the Manchester dates at the Etihad Stadium on May 31, 2023 and June 1, 2023.

Because of incredible demand the band were forced to add a second Cardiff show on June 7 at the Principality Stadium and two more shows in Manchester on June 3 and 4, 2023. It comes after the band completed a triumphant run of six sold out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium. The further European and UK stadium shows for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour in summer 2023 also include visits to Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.

Coldplay will play at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on June 6 as well as Manchester's Etihad Stadium for two nights on May 31 and June 1. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly for these dates as they are the only other UK dates which forms part of their world tour next year.
