Rebel Moon on Netflix: release date, cast and trailer for new Zach Snyder film

Netflix has released a new trailer for the upcoming Zach Snyder sci-fi film Rebel Moon.

The film, which has been written and directed by Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice's Snyder, will air in two parts, starting from December. Sofia Boutella stars as Kora, a lone-wolf soldier living on the quiet farming moon of Veldt.

She’s a long way away from her former life fighting for the Imperium, the brutal interstellar royal empire bent on controlling the galaxy. But Kora’s violent past is dredged up when sadistic admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) comes to Veldt via a Dreadnought-class battle cruiser and stirs up deadly trouble on the orders of the Imperium’s tyrannical regent, Balisarius (Fra Fee).

Michiel Huisman, Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, Charlie Hunnam and Djimon Hounsou will also join the cast. Staz Nair, Bae Doona, E. Duffy and Ray Fisher will also make appearances.

Snyder previously told website Netflix Tudum of the cast and their characters: "They’re all misfits. They’re all healing and finding a place to belong. It’s a movie about finding a family."

Rebel Moon will be released in two halves, starting this December.

Part One: A Child of Fire will come as an early Christmas treat, debuting on Netflix on December 22, 2023. Fans will then have to wait four months for Part Two: The Scargiver to drop on April 19, 2024.
