Real Madrid issue Kylian Mbappe scathing statement as La Liga giants furiously DENY talks with PSG superstar

Real Madrid have blasted reports that negotiations had begun over a transfer for PSG's French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

The 14-time European Cup/Champions League winners have had a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old forward, who scored a hat-trick in last year's extraordinary World Cup Final against Argentina, and had reportedly sought to make their move given that Mbappe is currently scheduled to be out of contract at the end of this season, following a long summer spat with the PSG board over a potential transfer away from the French capital.

Madrid though, have moved to categorically refute such claims, branding them 'completely false'. Under the Bosman ruling, players are only able to talk to other clubs about a free transfer move when they enter the last six months of their contract.

The statement in full reads: "Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG."
