France obliterate Gibraltar by 14 goals as Kylian Mbappe shows no mercy to hapless minnows on record breaking night

France racked up an incredible 14-0 win against 10-man Gibraltar as the World Cup runners-up showed the minnows no mercy in Nice.

It was already 3-0 to Les Bleus courtesy of an own goal, Marcus Thurham and Warren Zaire-Emery before Ethan Santos - who had put the ball beyond his own goalkeeper after three minutes - was sent off soon after the third goal. All that happened in the first 18 minutes and it wasn't long before France were racing out of sight.

Kylian Mbappe struck a hat-trick of goals AND assists while Kingsley Coman, Adrien Rabiot, Jonathan Clauss, Youssouf Fofana, Ousmane Dembele and Olivier Giroud all found the target in a demolition job for the record books. It is the largest victory in the history of the French national team and is a record-defeat for Gibraltar, overtaking their 9-0 battering at the hands of Belgium in Euro 2018 qualifying. They have conceded 35 goals without reply in their Euro 2024 qualifiers, losing all seven matches.
