Real Madrid 'end Erling Haaland interest' and more Man City transfer rumours

Real Madrid are reportedly considering pulling out of the race to sign Erling Haaland as Manchester City close in on a deal.

Haaland’s future is one of the biggest talking points in European football ahead of the transfer window. The Norway international looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund, with his release clause able to be triggered this summer.

Some of the continent’s biggest sides have been linked with the 21-year-old superstar, including City, Real, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The Blues look to be leading the race, with reports this week suggesting they've already agreed a deal to make Haaland the Premier League’s highest-paid player.

And it would appear the path is clearing for City to bring the striker to the Etihad. Bayern have already ruled out a move, while reports are now suggesting Real are considering pulling out of the race.

Journalist Rudy Galetti (via Sport Witness ) claims the Spanish giants are considering dropping their interest due to Haaland’s wage demands and agent fees. It's also claimed that, 'barring any unexpected surprises', City now have a free run at the deal.

Elsewhere, reports in Spain are claiming Sevilla could be interested in signing Julian Alvarez. The forward is set to join up with City in the summer having agreed a deal during the January transfer window.

Alvarez has remained on loan with River Plate ahead of completing his move to the Etihad, although the potential arrival of Haaland has raised questions about his place in the side moving forward. According to Fichajes, Sevilla are one of the sides hoping to take advantage of that uncertainty.
