Gabriel Jesus transfer news: Arsenal coup taking shape after Fabrizio Romano provides triple update

Arsenal are edging closer to bringing Man City striker Gabriel Jesus on board after transfer guru Fabrizio Romano provided three encouraging updates.

The Gunners will seek to revamp their forward line this summer to ensure Mikel Arteta is not left short on firepower. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already moved on, while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are set to become free agents.

With new faces arriving, Jesus’ time could be up and Arsenal are reportedly leading the chase. Indeed, the Athletic’s David Ornstein previously revealed talks over a move to north London have been ongoing for months.

Now, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has shed new light on the situation, and it makes for great reading for Gunners fans.

Firstly, Romano reaffirmed Arsenal’s desire to sign Jesus. The Italian tweeted Jesus is ‘top of their list’ in the attacking department.

Furthermore, Romano noted new ‘direct contacts’ have
