Real Betis ace Andres Guardado explains what his side must do to beat Manchester United

Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado has stressed the importance of making "very few mistakes" against Manchester United when the two sides meet in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Reds will be looking to bounce back from Sunday's harrowing 7-0 defeat to Liverpool when they take on Real Betis in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag's men were on an 11-game unbeaten run prior to the defeat at Anfield and had just won their first trophy since 2017 after overcoming Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final.

United remain the only English side still capable of winning four trophies this season. While Ten Hag's men are unlikely to realistically challenge for the Premier League title, the Reds are firmly in the hunt for Europa League and FA Cup glory.

Ten Hag's side defeated Barcelona in their Europa League play-off tie to set up a clash with fellow Spanish side Betis. Although the Premier League giants are favourites to progress, Guardado has insisted that Manuel Pellegrini's men can be successful against the Reds.

Asked what Betis must do in order to overcome United, the Mexican told Marca: "Well... make very few mistakes. They are big teams, that when you play against them, you have to make few mistakes and the perfect thing is to be very successful up front, that you materialise the opportunities that you can create.
