Reading FC player reacts after big personal moment for him in West Brom defeat

Reading may have fallen to a defeat against West Brom in their last game but there was one man who enjoyed the fixture despite the result and that is Terell Thomas, who told the club’s official website it was a ‘good day’ for him personally.

The Royals have been plunged into a relegation fight this season, with Veljko Paunovic unable to get results and ultimately paying for their form with his job and the side also being docked points.

It led to the team being right outside the drop zone but with some wins now being picked up by interim boss Paul Ince, the side have managed to just about seal Championship safety and are sitting in 21st in the division.

Whilst there isn’t a lot to play for now, they would still have liked to have pulled off a result against West Brom last time around. However, a goal from Karlan Grant ensured the points went to the Baggies – but Terell Thomas has revealed he ‘enjoyed’ the game as he was able to make his debut for the side.

The 26-year-old has played throughout the EFL and non-league so far in his career, with three campaigns for Woking and Sutton followed by a 73 match stint in League One for Wimbledon. However, he was yet to play in the Championship before he was snapped up by Reading and the Royals finally gave him the chance against West Brom.

Although he only featured for 63 minutes and it was somewhat of a dead rubber game, Thomas told the club’s official website that he was happy to have finally got on the field for his team. He said: “It’s great to finally make my debut, I have been waiting and been around the squad keeping fit and it’s good to come in the final home game.
