Ravens WR Zay Flowers to play after positive Rio workout - ESPN

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers will play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro after having an encouraging workout before the game.

Flowers had been considered a game-time decision with a left hamstring injury, and the Ravens didn't sound as if they were counting on him against the Cowboys, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter earlier in the day. But Flowers tested his injured hamstring in a 20-minute workout before the game, according to ESPN's Todd Archer, which convinced the team to make him active.

This means quarterback Lamar Jackson will have his top target for the first time since the first half of the season opener. In his return, Flowers is expected to be limited to 20 to 30 snaps, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Flowers has become one of Baltimore's most valuable playmakers. With Flowers this season, the Ravens have scored four touchdowns on five drives. Without him, Baltimore has scored three touchdowns on 16 drives.

In Baltimore's season-opening 43-21 win at Indianapolis, Flowers aggravated his hamstring injury late in the first half and didn't return. He had produced a career-high 150 receiving yards in the first half, which was the most by a Ravens player in 11 years.

Flowers didn't play in last week's 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday before being a limited participant in Friday's walk-through in Brazil.

On Friday's injury report, Flowers was listed as questionable. He has missed four games in his four-year career.

Last month, the Ravens signed Flowers to a four-year, $140 million extension that made him the fourth-highest-paid wide receiver with an average of $35 million per season.
