Rasmus Hojlund offering Manchester United something Cristiano Ronaldo didn't

Dwight Yorke reckons Rasmus Hojlund is offering Manchester United more than Cristiano Ronaldo did last season, but admits he has not been completely 'wowed' by the young Danish frontman.

Having allowed Ronaldo to leave midway through last campaign, United waited patiently to replace the departed five-time Ballon d'Or winner. After initially flirting with a swoop for England captain for Harry Kane - who eventually signed for Bayern Munich - the Premier League giants subsequently signed Hojlund.

The 20-year-old cost United around £72million. He has impressed while scoring three goal in his first eight games but former United striker Yorke wants to see more from him.

Speaking with investment data analysis platform Stocklytics, Yorke said: "I have to be totally brutal and say I don't know much about Hojlund. He's never been on the radar and he's come out of nowhere.

"Nobody was searching him until he arrived. He has potential, but him playing at this level already was something I couldn't see happening. The fact he's got three goals to his name is a positive and I like what I've seen so far.

"He's better than what United had last year. I'd certainly take him over what was on offer last year."

Yorke added: "He'll find it difficult in this league, particularly as he's doing it in a side who aren't playing particularly well. His goal tally will encourage him and I'm sure that'll have the same effect on the United fans, but wouldn't say he was someone who excited me off my seat and got me saying; 'Wow'.
