Piers Morgan trolls Erik ten Hag with Cristiano Ronaldo point after Manchester United defeat

TV personality Piers Morgan has yet again taken aim at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after his misfiring side were dramatically beaten in the Champions League by FC Copenhagen.

Rasmus Hojlund put United in control against their Danish opponents upon returning to his boyhood club, but that two-goal advantage was cancelled out after Marcus Rashford saw red. Ten-man United did edge back in front with Bruno Fernandes scoring from the penalty spot, but Copenhagen had the final say at Parken.

It was an action-packed Group A showdown that leaves United with a mountain to climb if they are to progress to the knockout stages in Europe this season. There were some promising signs in their performance, but Ten Hag and his players were still beaten for the ninth time in all competitions already this season.

Morgan wasted no time in sticking the boot in on Ten Hag after the full-time whistle. Of course, the TV host was a key feature in the chain of events that led to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving United for the second time in controversial circumstances a year ago.

In an astonishing interview with the media figure and Arsenal supporter, Ronaldo criticised Ten Hag and other key people behind the scenes at Old Trafford, which ultimately led to his departure. Ronaldo is now playing at Al-Nassr in the lucrative Saudi Pro League.

However, when it comes to United and Morgan especially, his name is never too far away from that conversation. Shortly after the action-packed Group A game ended on Wednesday night, Morgan took to renamed social media platform X to share his views.
