Rasmus Hojlund makes Manchester United goals clear with emphatic message
Rasmus Hojlund has promised to 'bleed for this jersey' at Manchester United on the quest to as win as many trophies as possible.
In an about-turn from a year ago, United have completed their major business well before the new Premier League season begins this year after the arrival of Hojlund was confirmed on Saturday. Erik ten Hag has wanted to add a striker to his squad all summer and the club have backed him by securing his top target.
United have splashed out a massive £64million for the 20-year-old and that could rise as high as £72m if certain performance-related bonuses are met. That's a steep outlay for such a young striker with just 33 senior goals to his name.
Hojlund - a boyhood United fan - has admitted he still has a lot of learning to do but has spoken confidently about his target of becoming one of the game's best strikers and helping his new club win trophies. “I’m very excited,” he told United's in-house media.

“That’s also why I come here,” he explains, referencing the English top flight. “I know it’s the most competitive league in the world. “Playing for Man United has always been my dream. So, this is two very important components which make me take this decision to come here. So, [I’m] just looking forward to start working and getting on the pitch.”
“I want to bleed for this jersey, and I want to win some trophies, so that’s why I came here. Of course, I’m 20 years old, so I have a lot still to learn, but I hope I can become a world-class striker as soon as possible.”
