Rangers Women’s boss Jo Potter signs new Ibrox deal and insists it is the start of ‘something really special’

Jo Potter has extended her contract as Rangers Women's manager until summer 2026.

Potter, who replaced Malky Thomson as the Gers women's side's head coach last June, will continue her journey in Govan after impressing in such a short timescale. The former Lioness has led an unbeaten SWPL campaign so far, with the Light Blues topping the table after winning 19 matches and drawing three.

The 49-year-old has also guided her team to the Sky Sports Cup final after a triumphant victory against Celtic in the semi-finals, where they will take on Partick Thistle at Tynecastle later this month. Rangers will have a chance at a domestic treble, with a tie against Hibs this weekend in Edinburgh standing between themselves and a semi-final place in the Scottish Cup. After signing her new contract, Potter said: "I am really happy here. It was kind of a no brainer for me when the club approached me about extending my stay.

"It is the start of something really special and the club has made me feel more than welcome and been really aligned with my views and my way of working. I have really enjoyed this last few months of being here.”

Women's and Girls' Managing Director Donald Gillies said: "Since I joined the club, I have thoroughly enjoyed my working relationship with Jo. I am pleased that we were able to make swift progress on the contract discussions, which demonstrate how committed to Rangers she is."
