Rangers vs Aberdeen ticket split snub shows 'inherent bias' as Viaplay Cup Final 50/50 row earns unanimous pundits verdict

The decision not to award a 50/50 ticket split for the Viaplay Cup final shows 'inherent bias' on the part of football's authorities.

That's the view of BBC Scotland pundits Tam Cowan and Stuart Cosgrove, who claim the call to award Rangers 25,000 tickets with the Aberdeen fans getting 19,500 briefs is unfair. Record Sport revealed the Dons wanted more and were left feeling aggrieved by not receiving half of available capacity. A statement read: "The club robustly put its case to the SPFL to treat both teams fairly with an even share of tickets given that Hampden is a neutral venue. Much to our extreme disappointment and frustration, this proposal was rejected by the SPFL"

Barry Robson's men will square off with Philippe Clement and Co in a cup final for the first time in two decades after the Dons saw of Hibs and Rangers bested Hearts. And while the Dons will be outnumbered by their rivals, Cosgrove reckons it shows a bias on the part of Scottish football's decision makers.

He told Off the Ball: "It's a terrible decision because it has exposed to too many people that love Scottish football that there is inherent bias within. Okay, it's Rangers Aberdeen, pull the names out of the hat and whoever comes out first is the home team."

Co-host Cowan said: "For Rangers and Aberdeen, split it 50/50. And if by any chance Aberdeen are struggling to fulfil then yes, you hand the rest of the tickets to Rangers and say 'help yourselves guys'...we know that teams take bigger supports to 'glamour' games and we know Aberdeen could have more at Hampden than they
