Rangers transfer state of play on Danilo, Cifuentes and Kamara as Alfredo Morelos 'considers' 3 offers

Rangers are playing the waiting game when it comes to landing Jose Cifuentes - with the timeline of an Ibrox arrival reportedly up in the air.

Cifuentes will see his contract at Los Angeles FC come to an end when the Major League Soccer season concludes, with many expecting the American outfit to cash in on the Ecuador international this summer - with Rangers leading the race to land the midfielder. However, he has remained a regular in Steve Cherundolo's starting line-up since the window alongside appearing for his country during the summer - most recently taking to the field during the derby loss to LA Galaxy.

The Athletic report that Rangers remains the "likely destination" for the 24-year-old when he leaves LAFC. However, they state that is is yet to be decided if he will leave "this summer or when his contract expires in the winter." That could mean that Michael Beale may have to wait until January to get his man unless a "small fee" can be negotiated this summer. With one midfielder set to arrive, another could be on the way out.

Glen Kamara's future is in doubt this summer with game time hard to come by for the Finland international last term. Beale admitted that all options were being considered for the man Rangers recruited for just £50,000 in 2019, but reports suggest the Ibrox outfit would be searching for a £5million transfer fee for his services.
