Lennon Miller admits he's had to grow a thicker skin to handle the growing transfer speculation surrounding him

The 17-year-old is expected to move on for big bucks, whether it's this window or later on, with Rangers among the clubs thought to be watching him. He's been praised for a growing authority on the pitch, turning into one of Motherwell's leaders already. So how is he handling the hype? By shutting it out and keeping his head down.

After scoring a penalty in his side's Premier Sports Cup win over Clyde, the teen sensation said: "That (authority) has come probably from the start of this season. Last season, I was probably kind of tentative like a wee boy, but I feel like this season I have kind of grown up and I have got the leadership skills.

"It can be hard to show that as a young boy coming into the first team, it’s tough because there are so many experienced players there and you are a young boy. But they all respect the young boys, and as a young boy you need to help them as well as them helping you."

When asked about 'speculation' from Rangers and others, Miller, son of former Aberdeen and Falkirk striker Lee, said: "When you are doing well at a young age then you are obviously going to get speculation. But for me it’s just about focusing on a Saturday or any game that we play, and doing the best I can.

"Playing games is going to come with confidence, and scoring the odd goal is obviously going to boost that as well, so I’m feeling confident."
