Rangers transfer news bulletin as Edier Ocampo 'offer' tabled and Hannibal Mejbri move answered in madcap interview

Rangers are one of three European clubs reportedly in the chase for Colombian starlet Edier Ocampo.

The Light Blues were heavily linked with Uruguayan kid Damian Garcia earlier this summer – and could be casting their eye towards South America again according to the latest reports. French side Toulouse and Italian outfit Hellas Verona are both named along with Rangers as being in for the Colombian prodigy who has announced his departure from Atletico Nacional. MLS sides, including Vancouver Whitecaps, have also been linked on the other side of the Atlantic.

Ocampo is a right back – a position Rangers could be in the market for with skipper James Tavernier tipped to leave – but can also play as a winger and has made a dozen appearances for the Colombian Under-20 team while playing 57 times in the Colombian top flight. He was left out by manager Pablo Repetto for Atletico Nacional's last game against Millonarios and a report states: "The situation points to the player probably leaving the club, as he has several offers from international teams, including the MLS, Toulouse of France, Rangers of Scotland and Hellas Verona of Italy."

Another playing being linked with a loan move to Rangers this summer is Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri amid claims the Old Trafford prospect is in "advanced talks" over a Red Devils exit. But all may not be as it seems after his United teammate Amad Diallo revealed the Tunisian midfielder had jetted out with the Erik ten Hag's squad during a madcap mid-flight interview. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Sevilla – but his switch to La Liga didn't quite bring the game time he'd hoped for as he managed just six appearances with five of those coming from the bench.
