Rangers transfer latest as Ridvan Yilmaz transfer fee revealed and how much Light Blues have bid

Rangers have been told they will need to pay close to £6 million for Besiktas left-back Ridvan Yilmaz, according to reports,

The 21-year-old Turkish defender was a regular for Kara Kartallar last season as they finished sixth in the Super Lig. He has been linked with a move away this summer though and one potential destination has emerged as Ibrox, with Rangers keen on defensive recruits.

It comes after left-sided defender Calvin Bassey departed in a deal worth over £20 million to Ajax and centre-back Ben Davies arrived as a replacement.

Bassey primarily shares a position with Yilmaz though and Light Blues boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst seemingly wants a natural replacement for the Nigerian international. The Daily Mail report the 2022 Europa League finalists have made their move with a package of around £4 million offered. But the Istanbul-based club want more and are said to be eyeing a £6 million valuation.

The Times reports though that it is Rangers' 'hope' a deal in the £4 million region can be struck with Besiktas.

It's been a busy summer at Ibrox and alongside Davies, van Bronckhorst has brought in John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence and Malik Tillman.

They've made plenty back though in transfer fees with Bassey's blockbuster move and Joe Aribo heading to Southampton.
