Rangers transfer latest as Nedim Bajrami 'set' for Ibrox as playmaker named as tip top Todd replacement

A report in Albania claims attacking midfielder Nedim Bajrami is closing on a season-long loan to Rangers with an option to buy.

The 25-year-old appears on the way out at Sassuolo after their relegation from Serie A and now Sport Mania in his homeland claim a deal to Ibrox is in the offing. Bajrami has spent two seasons with the Italian side and was a key contributor. But he is set to exit rather than stick around for their bid to return to the top flight of Italian football.

And Rangers are set to have a vacancy in the final third of the pitch with Todd Cantwell one thumbs up away from the Blackburn board from signing for Rovers in the coming days. The playmaker was desperate to leave Ibrox after telling Philippe Clement he wanted out during pre-season. And now Bajrami – capped 25 times by his country – appears primed to fit the bill.
