Rangers take charge of SWPL with TWELVE goal rout but Celtic and Glasgow City keep heat well and truly on

Rangers head into the international break at the top of the Scottish Power SWPL after a 12-0 annihilation of Montrose yesterday afternoon.

They have played one game more than Glasgow City and Celtic - both of whom also won to sustain their 100 per cent record this season. The current Rangers manager and Malky Thomson before her had lamented an inability to finish teams off. “Ironically, it was the clean sheet that pleased me the most,” said Potter.

“We weren’t too pleased with the goal we conceded last Wednesday so we looked at it and dissected it so we would do better. But to get 12 goals and from six different goalscorers is pleasing. “We have the structure a bit better behind the ball so we can free people up and when you have quality players in and around the box it is down to them to take the chances. We knew it would be a tough week as three games in a week is never easy. I have been more than impressed. To finish off with nine points and 12 goals today is fantastic and I am very proud of them.

“Hopefully the players who are away come back nice and fresh and it is good for us to have a little refresh again and we can reflect on what we are doing well. I am happy with where we are at and it will be nice to get some players back after the international break.”

Elsewhere, Glasgow City thumped Dundee United 6-0 while Celtic were eventual 4-0 winners over Aberdeen. The Dons made life
