Rangers Supporters Association demand Douglas Park answers as fuming fan groups unite in 'financial gains' concern

The Rangers Supporters Association have called for a meeting with Ibrox chairman Douglas Park and the board as they raised concerns over the club's spending this summer.

Tensions are rising at Ibrox following the 4-0 demolition at the hands of Celtic, with Ange Postecoglou's side cruising to victory over their city rivals to move five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Rangers fans have been forced to watch on enviously as their rivals splashed the cash in the summer transfer window as they continued to spend until the last seconds of deadline day, while Gio van Bronckhorst 's recruitment drive ended with the addition of Ridvan Yilmaz back in July.

That's despite the influx of Champions League cash this term after qualifying for the group stage just three months on from the influx of cash earned on route to the Europa League final. The likes of Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo have also brought in hefty transfer fees within the last 12 months.

Now the fan grouping, which represents 145 associations across the globe, have called for a clear route forward for the football club to be shown by the board. The statement read: “The RSA are concerned with not just the result (against Celtic) but the running of our club over the last year.

"Development and vision of the club starts with the board and should feed down through recruitment, players and staff. This has not been the case and we find ourselves in a position where those in charge do not want to engage with the fans or fans groups.

"We will be writing to Rangers to demand a meeting to find a solution to this mismanagement of our club and in particular where the financial gains in the last year are being used."
