Rangers stand against European Super League as Glasgow giants unite with UEFA over 'true principles'

Rangers have shut down any chance of joining the European Super League after the organisers behind the controversial breakaway league after they won their case at the Court of Justice.

The Scottish Premiership side were likely to have been given an invitation along with Celtic to join the breakaway group with the revamped set-up set to included a massive 80-team structure but they have now made their position clear. Rangers have now release statement standing by UEFA and the European Club Association - stating they do not wish to leave current set-up.

While sharing a statement released by the ECA - which slammed the prospect of a second Super League proposal - Rangers released their own comments on X. It read: " Rangers FC enjoys fantastic representation within the European Club Association, and we reiterate and endorse their strong message on the ‘Super League project.’ We will continue to work with ECA and UEFA to uphold the true principles of European football."

It comes after Celtic have also emphatically ruled out joining the set-up. Parkhead chairman Peter Lawwell holds a powerful position on the ECAboard and his club has no wish to break ranks from UEFA.
