Rangers squad revealed for Livingston as injury crisis opens Viaplay Cup door to 3 fringe stars
It's the Viaplay Cup for Rangers tonight as Livingston come to town with a trip to Hampden on the line.
But it's one where Michael Beale will have to find the balance between progress and rotation as injuries continue to ravage his ranks amid a hectic schedule. Injuries claimed Scott Wright and Rabbi Matondo against Motherwell at the weekend and with Tom Lawrence suffering a fresh setback, the squad is looking thin on the ground.
But Beale's lieutenant Neil Banfield is counting on depth to get through it, hinting a few fringe stars might get their chance to step up. Youngster Bailey Rice might be one hoping for some involvement after he was given the nod off the bench against Motherwell and he could join Ryan Jack in a fresh looking midfield. But who starts ahead of them remains to be seen. Kemar Roofe could come back in for, or alongside Cyriel Dessers.
Meanwhile in behind, Abdallah Sima will be another counting on some minutes. And could there be rotation in the full-back areas with Ridvan Yilmaz hoping to dislodge Borna Barisic again?
