Rangers: 'Real possibility' 159-goal star will leave Ibrox

Alfredo Morelos might have played his last game for Rangers, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The £11.7m-rated striker has been an outstanding servant since he joined the Ibrox club in 2017 and netted his 100th goal for the club earlier this season.

However, Morelos has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign following a thigh injury sustained on international duty with Colombia and could face speculation about his future this summer.

Morelos was enjoying another fine season at the top end of the pitch for Rangers, scoring 19 goals across all competitions, with his most recent coming against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League.

However, the 25-year-old suffered a thigh injury in training during the last international break, which has ended his season early.

Morelos recently underwent surgery on the problem, with Rangers expecting him back for the start of pre-season.

But with just 14 months remaining on his Gers contract, Morelos could face uncertainty over his future, especially after he recently changed agents.

Should he end his five-year stay with the Glasgow giants this summer, he’ll have played his final game in blue, and O’Rourke reckons that could yet prove to be the case.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It could be a real possibility that we have seen the last of Morelos in a Rangers shirt. We’ve had speculation about his future every transfer window since he’s been at the club.

“He’s scored goals again in Europe, which is going to attract interest from teams in the Premier League and across Europe, and he will not be short of offers in the summer because of his goalscoring record.”
