Rangers now gifted huge boost before Annan as forgotten ace 'will be involved' alongside Ramsey

Glasgow Rangers have now been gifted a huge boost before they face Annan Athletic away from home in the Scottish Cup.

Speaking in his pre-game press conference ahead of the match, Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed that Aaron Ramsey is now ‘fit to start‘, meaning that the Ibrox faithful could see him from the first whistle for the first time since he signed on loan from Juventus on Transfer Deadline Day.

The Dutchman also gave positive updates on the fitness of both Leon Balogun and Ryan Jack, and revealed that a forgotten man ‘will be involved‘ against Annan.

Indeed, van Bronckhorst also confirmed that Filip Helander, who has not played for the Teddy Bears since September, ‘will be involved‘ in the cup clash:

“Filip (Helander) has been training for a few weeks and will be involved tomorrow.

“I am really happy for him after a spell out.”

What a huge boost it is for the Light Blues to have Helander back in the squad.

Van Bronckhorst will surely be excited to work with the Sweden international, who was ranking highly among his teammates in terms of average tackles, clearances and blocks per game in the Scottish Premiership earlier this season (WhoScored), and of course scored the winning goal against Celtic at home to help the Gers keep up the pace in the title race against their city rivals.

Nonetheless, Helander will be hoping that he can now put his injury problem behind him, and use some minutes against Annan as a springboard to finish the campaign with the Gers strongly.
