Rangers news bulletin as Sam Lammers told wage cut a must for Utrecht move and Alfredo Morelos booed by OWN fans

Sam Lammers is wanted on a permanent basis by Utrecht with the Dutch club confirming they will enter transfer talks with Rangers.

The Ibrox attacker left in January after struggling in Glasgow with just two goals in 31 appearances after joining from Atalanta last summer as part of former boss Michael Beale's big summer rebuild job. However, since his switch to the Eredivisie he has been reborn and has netted nine goals in ten games.

Now his loan club will look to persuade Philippe Clement and Rangers to do a dell to sell them Lammers on a full-time deal although club sporting director Jordy Zuidam has conceded that the attacker is ABOVE the salary cap at the club and would need to come to an agreement to make the move happen. He's also stated that they will do everything they can as a club to make the transfer happen. He explained: "It's clear Sam is above our salary cap. But we reached an agreement with Rangers that was acceptable to us. Now we have to find a way with Sam and his club to keep him. We are fully committed to signing Sam permanently.

"He is a very important member of our team. We did everything we could to bring him here on loan and we will do everything possible to bring him here on a permanent deal.

"We have spoken to him several times and he is really a boy who is obsessed with football. He has said that he wants to finish the season, but is definitely considering it. We will look for all possibilities to keep him. I hope that is enough."
