Rangers news bulletin as Sam Lammers handed 2 permanent exit hurdles while Celtic VAR gripe lingers

Utrecht boss Ron Jans has stated that Rangers asking price for Sam Lammers could scupper their hopes making the striker's loan move permanent this summer.

The 26-year-old has scored in his last three games in a row for Utrecht and already has two more goals with his loan club in 11 games than the two he managed at Rangers in 31 appearances. The Scottish Premiership side spent £3.5 million to snap up the forward from Atalanta - but Philippe Clement moved the forward on in January after he failed to impress.

While Lammers has previously admitted he would be open to a deal the move is not yet a foregone conclusion, according to Jans. He said: "We are very happy with Sam. He plays good football and he is a great guy. If he would like to stay longer, we will do everything we can. However, there are factors that you cannot control...Rangers and money."

And it is of course Old Firm derby week - which has meant a few old grievances have been aired from earlier in the season. Ibrox hero Ally McCoist has refused to let one controversial call go from the opening derby showdown of the campaign at Ibrox.

Kemar Roofe appeared to have opened the scoring after being played through by Cyriel Dessers - but VAR brought play back for an incident in the build-up. Referee Don Robertson would decide Dessers to had Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke - leading to the goal being chalked off.

And McCoist has refused to let that one go - as he tipped his former side to win derby day bragging rights this term.
