Rangers fans rage at Hamilton transfer unveiling that has them all saying the same thing

Hamilton Accies have caught flak from Rangers fans after referring to the club as 'The Glasgow Rangers FC'

The Scottish League One outfit took to social media to announce Ben Williamson's arrival from the Ibrox side as he posed in the training gear of his new club, holding a Hamilton top while one other image showed him shaking hands with boss John Rankin. The midfielder, 22, has joined Accies for an undisclosed fee after coming through Rangers' academy. He's spent time out on loan at Dundee, Livingston and Raith Rovers and spent the first half of this season at Partick Thistle.

Announcing the deal, the club posted: "We are delighted to announce we have now fully completed the signing of Ben Williamson to Hamilton Academical FC. We have agreed an undisclosed fee with The Glasgow Rangers FC for the player. We thank The GRFC for their cooperation."

The wording used in their post on X - formally known as Twitter - has left a number of Rangers fans raging and all saying the same thing following the announcement of the transfer. One fan wrote in reply to the post: "Embarrassing press release. Maybe you'll realise the error of your ways when you go to the big school..."

Another said: "Good signing but why would the club announce it like that !!. Amateur stuff."

A further punter commented: "Congrats on your last cut price youngster from us. Well done."

Accies are on the road tomorrow evening as they face Stirling Albion in a 5.30pm kick-off. They currently trail unbeaten league leaders Falkirk by five points - having played a game more - in the race for the League One title and a return to the Scottish Championship.
