Rangers boss Philippe Clement responds to Scott Brown's love bomb with instant quip
Philippe Clement declared his love for all people who adore Rangers as he responded to Scott Brown's love bomb over the Ibrox side.
The Light Blues gaffer comes up against the Celtic hero on Saturday evening in the Scottish Cup as he looks to book a ticket for the quarter-final draw. The men from Govan have already tasted domestic cup success in the League Cup this campaign and are targetting the famous old trophy come the end of the season with the title fight neck and neck in the Premiership.
Brown takes his new club to a familiar venue from his playing days and will no doubt face a hostile reception from the home support as he makes his return as a manager. In the build up to this showdown, Clement, without naming the former Scotland international, said after the midweek win over Aberdeen that they were next facing a team whose manager didn't have much affection for his side.
But in a tongue and cheek response, the Hoops legend claimed the Belgian could not be further from the truth. And now the Ibrox gaffer he sent another clever quip back towards his dugout rival during his media duties today. He said: "I read that he loves Rangers. I love all the people that love Rangers. That can be really, really good between us also on the sidelines."
His response comes after previously Brown stated: "I've got a lot of love for Rangers. It's all in the past for me. It's gone. Yes we're underdogs, we know that. But there have been a lot of upsets in the cup and I've been part of them. I know Rangers will be focused but we need to make sure we're focused as well. As long I don't rise to anything, we should be okay."
