Champions Celtic have snatched a point from Ibrox as they came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Rangers in another pulsating instalment of this age-old derby.

Youssef Chermiti bagged a double in the New Year instalment at Celtic Park and he opened the scoring on eight minutes with a remarkable overhead kick that flashed by Viljami Sinisalo in the Celtic goal after Kasper Schmeichel had been ruled out pre-match through illness.

It was a stunning start for Danny Rohl's side and Chermiti would bag his second after an almighty mix-up at the back for the visitors. Dane Murray missed his header and the big striker then nicked the ball off Julian Araujo before poking it past the keeper for 2-0 on 26 minutes.

Jack Butland had come up with some big saves in the second half, and produced another wonder stop from a close-range Daizen Maeda header before VAR intervened to spot a Dujon Sterling handball and award Celtic a late penalty. Substitute Reo Hatate stepped up after a lengthy delay and saw his spot-kick saved by the Englishman, and the rebound, before the Japanese midfielder eventually bundled home at the third attempt for a share of the spoils.
