Ramsgate boss Lee Martin on captain TJ Jadama, forward Kweku Lucan’s debut in 3-1 Isthmian Premier win against Chichester City and departure of Ryan Kingsford for Folkestone Invicta for an undisclosed fee

Lee Martin has heaped praise on Ramsgate captain TJ Jadama.

Midfielder Jadama delivered a superb individual goal, skipping past three players before he scored, to seal last weekend’s 3-1 Isthmian Premier home win against Chichester after defender Ian Gayle and debutant Kweku Lucan had netted at the start of either half.

Ramsgate boss Martin rates local lad Jadama, 27, as among the best No.10s in the division.

“We got an early goal in the first half and one straight after half-time, which is always a good time to score,” said Martin. “At times, we were very comfortable.

“I think it was very fortunate with their goal, which took a deflection and beat Dill (goalkeeper Dillon Addai) at the post.

“But we saw a real captain’s performance from TJ. He took the game by the scruff of the neck.

“He showed why he’s one of the best No.10s, if not the best, No.10 in the league.

“When I was watching, I felt uncomfortable at times with the amount of possession Chichester had but it wasn’t compelling possession. On reflection, we looked very comfortable and, at times, probably should have been out of sight.

“As much as I maybe didn’t feel in control on the side at times, having watched it back, we were really comfortable.”

Gayle, now 33, had earlier broken the deadlock when he converted a pass by forward Solomon Ogunwomoju from teenage Gillingham loanee Harry Webster’s corner in the fifth minute at Southwood.

“We'd worked on that corner,” revealed Martin.

“It was a bit of a second-phase corner. It’s always nice when something like that comes off.

“The majority of our goals come from set-plays so we’re quite strong on that front.”

Forward Lucan then got the Rams’ second as he made an immediate impact, having played for Folkestone earlier
