Sheffield Wednesday‘s season ended in heartbreak last night when they drew 1-1 with Sunderland.

In their League One play-off semi-final, the Owls needed a victory at Hillsborough to overturn the 1-0 defeat they suffered at the Stadium of Light in the first leg and they were on track to do so when Lee Gregory gave them a 74th minute lead.

It was to end in heartbreak, though, with Patrick Roberts equalising for Sunderland in the 93rd minute, earning them a 2-1 victory on aggregate.
