Middlesbrough’s season came to a disappointing end.

Defeat on the final day of the Championship season meant that Boro missed out on a play-off place, finishing 7th in the final league standings.

The only consolation being that even a win away at Preston would not have seen the club climb into the top six.

It must be said though, that the club are heading in the right direction under boss Chris Wilder.
