Punjab United beat Fisher 2-0 to reach FA Vase quarter-finals for the first time in their history

Punjab United have made history by reaching the FA Vase quarter-finals for the first time.

Chipie Sian’s side beat Fisher 2-0 at home to progress to the last eight and keep their Wembley dream alive.

They’re the last team standing in Kent, after holders Whitstable lost on penalties to Cockfosters, and are also flying the flag for the Southern Counties East League.

Gravesend-based Punjab took a 21st-minute lead against fellow SCEFL club Fisher when Jack Hopkins headed home a cross from Chris Edwards.

Another Edwards cross led to the second goal as Will Johnson-Cole doubled the advantage four minutes later.

Punjab will discover their quarter-final opponents when the draw takes place on Monday afternoon.

Two SCEFL Premier Division matches survived the weekend rain - thanks to 3G pitches.

Ibby Akanbi scored a late winner as Hollands & Blair beat Rusthall 2-1 at Star Meadow.

Kane Rowland gave Blair a half-time advantage but Robbie Bissett levelled from the penalty spot just after the break.

With the game heading for a draw, Akanbi struck with seven minutes remaining.

Victory sends Darren Blackburn’s side up to ninth.

They’re a point behind Erith & Belvedere, who were 2-1 winners at Kennington.

Matthias Broomes’ first-half strike and an injury-time Thomas Borders strike earned the points.

There was still time for Rajan Sahni to reply for Ton but it was the visitors’ day.
