Pundit disagrees with Wolves' Conor Coady over 'honest' Arsenal remarks

Former England international Eniola Aluko claims Arsenal were "absolutely entitled" to wildly celebrate their 1-0 win over Wolves earlier this month.

The Gunners scored the game's only goal in the 25th minute when Gabriel capitalised on some sloppy defending from the Wolves defence on a corner at Molineux.

Without a response from Bruno Lage's men, Arsenal players celebrated at the final whistle after holding on to a precious three points in the race for a top four place in the Premier League, which Wolves captain Conor Coady claimed he "didn't like."

"We seen the celebrations, I'll be honest with you, from our point of view we really didn't like them," Coady told the BBC Football Daily podcast.

"We all know how competitive the game can get and I think we all understood how important that game was last night for both teams.

"We were talking about it all week, how big the game was. You don't want to see it, you don't want to hear it.

"That's what you're like as a footballer. It really, really hurt us if I'm being honest with you."

The two teams meet at the Emirates this evening as Wolves look to avenge their narrow defeat, and Aluko wants to see footballers showing more emotion like Mikel Arteta's players did at Molineux.

Aluko said on Amazon Prime: "You are absolutely entitled to celebrate, this is what we want to see.

"We want to see emotion, we want to see passion, footballers are not robotic, we want to see this.

"These are two teams that are fighting for the top four places, there will be no love lost and I think we are going to see that again this evening.
