PSSI Website Hacked as Indonesia Loses to Thailand in 1st Leg of AFF Cup Final

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) official website was hacked after Indonesia lost 0-4 to Thailand in the first leg match of the 2020 AFF Cup final at Singapore National Stadium, Wednesday night.

The hackers took down its homepage and replaced it with a statement reading “Ayo...Tetap Semangat di Laga Kedua” (Come on... Keep on the Spirit for the Second Leg) and news about the result of the last night’s match with a downloadable song titled Garuda di Dadaku. They referred to themselves as "Anon7" and "AnonSec Team".

The hacked page also featured a poster showing the association's chairman Mochamad Iriawan covered with a cross sign. It was also written, "Indonesia mainnya bapuk apa karena ketum pssi masuk kamar ganti pemain? Yok indonesia bisa yok, masih ada leg 2, semangat! #opiwan #indonesiajuara". (Why did Indonesia play poorly, was it because the Head of PSSI entered the players' locker room? Come on Indonesia you still can win it, there is still the second leg, Keep the spirit up!)

They also noted an email address anonganteng@protonmail.com. As of Wednesday night at 11:48 p.m., PSSI has not yet managed to fix the issue.

Indonesia and Thailand are set to meet again in the second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final which was scheduled on new year’s day at Singapore National Stadium.
