PSG 'stance' on signing Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United theory emerges

A fresh update has emerged over the rumours that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.

The Portugal international has seen his future at Old Trafford become the subject of speculation in recent months. Fernandes is contracted at United until 2026 and there have been suggestions that an exit could be on the cards this summer.

PSG have been credited as a potential destination for Fernandes should the United captain leave the club. However, a fresh update has surfaced which appears to dismiss these rumours.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that PSG, despite holding an admiration for the player, are not in talks to sign Fernandes this summer. Romano is quoted telling Give Me Sport that there are currently no plans from the Ligue 1 club to enter negotiations to sign Fernandes.

Instead, Romano claims that PSG's priority is to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, who has also been linked with a move to United this summer. As a result, it's stated that there is no sign of Fernandes leaving United in favour of moving to the French capital.

The report doesn't stop there, with it being suggested that Fernandes could be in line for a new contract at United. The 29-year-old last signed a new deal with the Reds back in 2021 that still has two years to run, with the option of a further year that could see his current contract potentially run until 2027.

Fernandes is currently still enjoying his summer break following his participation with the Portugal squad at Euro 2024. The United captain is expected to return for pre-season
